How you can help

For over 250 years Norwich Theatre Royal has been entertaining and inspiring. Did you know that for nearly 40 years we have also been a registered charity? For thousands of people across the region their first experience of theatre of any kind will be through Norwich Theatre Royal.

As a registered charity education and learning are at the heart of what we do, with projects ranging from the Norfolk Schools Project, which over the last 12 years has given over 2,000 9-11 year olds the opportunity to work with leading animateurs, dancers, musicians and singers, in creating their own opera and performing it on the Theatre Royal stage, to workshops with local schools, work experience placements, training for youngsters in theatre skills and backstage tours for schools. This established education programme has forged strong links with schools across Norfolk.

Norwich Theatre Royal is committed to access for all. We do not discriminate on the grounds of physical, social or financial barriers. Our recent refurbishment has greatly improved the levels of physical access. Signed, captioned and audio described performances give the whole community the opportunity to enjoy the range of productions we bring to the region. Reduced rates for school groups, young people and senior citizens ensure that those most likely to face barriers in visiting the theatre are given equal opportunity.

As a registered charity receiving limited public revenue subsidy each year we face the challenge of meeting our running costs while maintaining our contribution to the community. Running these exciting projects and hosting a wide range of shows whilst balancing the demands of running as a viable business requires the support of our audience, Friends, trusts and foundations and businesses.
