Workshops

Dirty Dancing ~ Performing Arts Workshops


Workshop package includes;

  • 4 hour workshop of choreography, songs and scene work from the First Ever National Tour of Dirty Dancing. This workshop culminates with a mini performance of The Playhouse, Kellerman's AND Time Of My Life!
  • Tickets to see the show; witness the sections you have learnt come to life on stage!
  • Finally, you will get to have your photo with the famous watermelon and receive a workshop certificate.

£60 including your show ticket. At the £30 price band
Each workshop has limited places so book early to avoid disappointment.

Full and half day in-school workshops exploring the current RSC production will be available to schools within a 30-minute travel time of the theatre (or at the theatre venue, subject to availability).
 
An RSC Education practitioner will work with your class (Maximum 30 students) to deepen their knowledge and understanding about the play and its performance possibilities.

National Theatre On Tour ~ WORKSHOPS (Aimed at KS3+ students) ~ Commedia dell’Arte

 Available on Wednesday 5th December: 10.00am - 12.00pm and 1.00 - 3.00pm
 
These practical workshops explore the roots of Commedia dell'Arte using improvisation, physical theatre and storytelling. Sessions are led by NT learning associates. Maximum 25 students per workshop.

Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty ~ IN-SCHOOL WORKSHOPS ~ Aged 14yrs & up

 
(Particularly relevant to Dance/Performing Arts Students)

Re:Bourne, the education arm of New Adventures, offers groups the opportunity to delve into the production’s themes, characters and movement.
 
Content: Workshops led by dancers from the Sleeping Beauty cast will cover the following basic structure and can be adapted to suit the ability and/or experience of the group:
  1. Warm up
  2. Learning repertoire from Sleeping Beauty
  3. Creative tasks used by the company to build character and narrative
  4. Warm down
  5. Short Q&A with the dancers
  6. Workshop availability: Friday 23rd November 2012. (Workshops are available for all other New Adventures productions on request, all year round.)
  • Location: Workshops can take place at your school or at The Garage (Studio 5), Norwich
  • Cost: Half-day workshop between 2 – 3 hrs - £300.00 (No VAT) + travel expenses where necessary.
  • Groups: Up to 25 participants

Rambert ~ Labyrinth of Love Tour ~ IN-SCHOOL WORKSHOPS

 
A maximum of 30 students can take part in a workshop led by 1 animateur.
A responsible adult must be present throughout the workshop (school teacher/theatre staff).
 
Costs: Half Day of Dance (max. of 3 hours) £180 + VAT
           Full Day of Dance (max. of 6 hours including 1 hour lunch) £270 + VAT
 
(N.b. These prices are for those groups who have booked for the show)
 
The animateur will invoice you for additional costs incurred, mainly travel (either a return train ticket or petrol is calculated at 40p per mile) and if your school is not local to London they will also invoice you for their accommodation if required (capped at £45.60).
