Norwich's newest centre for the performing arts, offering a range of training opportunities, performances and much more. The Garage project was set up thanks to an innovative partnership between the NELM Development Trust (A New Deal For Communities funded organization set up to improve the opportunities for residents in the North Earlham, Larkman and Marlpit areas of Norwich) and Norwich Theatre Royal. The independent charity, The Garage Trust (formerly known as The Academy Trust) was established in 2002 to manage the venue and its charitable activities.
Since the venue opened in 2004, a wide range of trusts, foundations, grant giving bodies, statutory organizations, businesses and other supporters have helped The Garage to raise the funds that they need in order to develop charitable projects and activities that support young people, particularly those that are disadvantaged, vulnerable or with the fewest opportunities.
